    Boost Gauge Mount

Here you go Martyn - this is how far I got tonight.

10 minutes cutting the universal gauge mount (from Merlin Motorsports) and 10 minutes cutting the steering column cowling.

I hope it doesn't look crap when it's finished.

Sand it when it's dry and maybe some filler to blend it a bit better - that will, no doubt, take a while.

nice - i've been planning something similar.
Perhaps using fibreglass to blend the whole thing from corner to corner with sweeping curves. But that could end up looking very wrong and a bit too big.....

I like what I'm seeing Doug, when I had the cowlings off mine, it looked like you could 'sink' the 'pod' down into the cowling a bit more than you've done though. Where you not able to?

Doug, how you thinking of finishing it? once filled and sanded, that's going to be hard to make the end result look OE style finish, have you thought of anything yet?

I was thinking I could have mounted it lower - maybe the Mk2 will be lower!

I have a satin and gloss paint to try on it - I was thinking it might be better to paint the bottom cowling as well to get them matching. There isn't too much plastic round there to notice any difference.

good point, paint them both, nothing to compare it too around them. Looking forward to see the finished article.

Looking good, never thought of mounting one there.

Ive seen people make a digital one with LED's that light up with higher boost mounted on the cowling but never that.

I want one. Does that gauge light up? Thats gonna be my next mod. What gauge is it? How did you stick it on? Did you use something like araldite.

That will block out all the lights on the dash! Wont be able to see the speedo after about 130mph. Thats no good.

you'll still see the speedo but the lights will be harder to see - If I mount it as low as possible it might be possible to see all the lights. There isn't any important lights there anyway.

It teh Autometer Phatom gauge - best match i've seen so far.

It's stuck on with araldite and will get blended in with body filler
