has anyone had this issue with white dials?

i have just had some clocks with some good new white dials. they look mint in day but in night they look like this....







i have checked lamp wattages and they are 1.1watt as they should be. got clocks apart in front of me now. should the new dials be placed over the original dials or replace?

Normally they replace. Looks like the wrong light is with old and new ones, is that right? Seems they aren't placed right.

the bulbs are all as they should be at 1.1w the person i bought them off assured me they are from rusty on here. i got them apart and cant figuire it out. all seems in order, its like the lamp is too bright and the line shadow you see is the plastic reflector behind it, if you get me. but even when dimmed right down it still looks very odd

Who did you buy the dials off? I've never received a complaint in 100 sets but it would be good to know when they were bought.

Try holding them against a window in indirect sunlight as that's a uniform light source.

by all means i mean no disrespect here rusty I'm just looking for some suggestions. would it be right for me to announce on here sellers name? the original ones are red behind like pink plastic, should these be?

If you're worried about bad PR on a supplier with a one-off defect, try to contact them directly.

Then when it's resolved, with their permission, post the results

Alternatively, if they give you static, post away!

Is the light getting round the side and lighting up the white part from the front?

No they are down properly. Trued differebt bulbs today from originals and still the same. Its rsally odd. Need to find a solution...

There would seem to be a fault in the lamination of the dial face material..

The dials aren't laminated, they're screen printed.

ok, that means me dismantling again. there not as thick as original . original has the pink background plastic thing. these don't.

I sold the clocks to Jordan. The dials were bought from rusty shortly after getting my s2. Mine were peeling so had to be done. If I'm honest it never bothered me. However I understand why you would want to sort it.
