    C5 A6 water in footwell

I know this isn't an S car but it's the only forum I'm on Hoping I can still get some useful input here.

I've got water in the passenger footwell, a lot of it. It's not coolant and doesn't appear to be screen wash, I've had the battery out and checked all the scuttle area and pollen filter and that's all bone dry and no obvious blockages. I whipped the glovebox out for a better look, and the water is dripping out of this joint I've taken a picture of, from what I assume is the heater box.

It's dry on the top of the foam, and dripping wet on the underside of the foam. I'm a bit stumped as to how water is getting into that box and why it's leaking out there. It's not a constant leak either, it's when I go uphill or accelerate, so there must be some standing water in there and it's sloshing out.

Any hints on what to check most appreciated

This is a common issue on C5.
It's an A/C drain, the one that leaves puddle under your car after air conditioner is being used. Now it's clogged with dirt from the road and must be cleaned. Be sure to dry out all the water from under carpet front AND back.

Ah great input and super quick! Where is this ac drain located? I have had the ac constantly for about 3 weeks now so that'll do it. I'll have to take the seats and carpets out because I think there's an ecu under there?

Poke it through from underneath if you can reach, don't look up there while doing it though!

So my next question is, how in the world do you get the front seats out of this god forsaken car. I've not found a decent guide, there's two 13mm bolts at the front which i've undone, and there is a tiny bit of movement but the seat just does not want to move any further back on its runners.

To answer my own question, anger. Worked a charm.

I have a C5 as well. Can someone tell me where this drain is so I can clean it out properly? Is it in the rain tray area under hood??

Or, is it something under the dash/glovebox?

It comes from the back of the heater box where my pic shows, and goes through the bulkhead coming out sort of behind/above the driveshaft. I couldn't get to it from the engine bay side on my drive because it's been blanked off with a cover plate, so i removed it footwell side and poked a large screw driver through it to clear it out. Fingers crossed it's done the trick, I'm sure I'll find out in a few days if it hasn't. If I could have put the car up on a ramp I'm sure it's easy enough to get to.
