  • Toolchain Setup Help

I'm trying to get this working on my PC & car, so wanted to check a few things, as I've not been successful so far.

Firstly, are there any modifications required to the ECU? I've read through the site and I already have a different MAP sensor installed for the RS2 upgrade, which looks like that suggested.
    • PC is windows 10
    • I've got a 409.1 KKL interface, which I use with VCDS lite.
    • This uses Windows 10 drivers for the chip and I've just this minute read the codes on the car (unfortunately, as the universally useless 00561 is back )
    • Downloaded the Tunerpro RT and completed the steps
    • Downloaded Winlog 14.7 and got the dashboard loaded
    • Added the M232 device using the dll supplied
    • COM port set to COM4, as per the USB to COM port adapter's settings

I can't get anything to register on the dashboard now.

    Cheers for any help.

Have you wired the MAP to the other board? I'm not sure how much failsafe is in prj's software if missing MAP or incorrect signal.

Yeah you have to solder a wire in to connect the MAP sensor to the other board.

        And maybe cut a track?
Are there instructions in the wiki?
You realise you’re going to be running MAF less?

There are instructions in the wiki: http://m232.org/index.php?title=Requ...running_prjmod

Also a thing to note that immo will prevent the fastlogging. It's all covered in the wiki page above.

You have to burn the chips for the PRJ software.
The dash runs from the same usb OBD adapter as you usually use for vagcom, to swap it over to dash mode you floor the Accelerator and switch the ignition on. Vagcom will no longer work but winlog dash will.
Same procedure to switch it back.

Sorry, bit disjointed, it’s a while since I played with this.

Incorrect. If you want to use regular VCDS logging/diag you floor the throttle while switching ignition on. And this mode stays only for the duration you have ignition on. If you switch ignition off then it will be fastlogging mode when switched on again (if throttle not applied).

Thank you kymi, I’ll edit my post to avoid confusion

Ah, so I need to get new chips then.

I found it all a bit confusing tbh, so started with the easy stuff. Didn't want to start ripping the ECU to bits unneceunnecessarily.

Sure you need to run prjmod binaries in the chips. That's the first step. Everything else is built to support that combination. You can also run emulator-chips (for example Moates' Ostrich) and have an opportunity to do realtime tuning. No need to burn and swap chips with every modification.

I get this failure message during the installation of the dll.
Winlog v1.1 and windows 10 Pro.

/solved: I have to use the 14.7 Winlog version.

                            Thanks for the help.

I've been offered a modified ECU, so final piece of the puzzle is the chips.

My car is RS2 spec ABY with prj chips.

This is a new area for me, so any help is much appreciated in getting setup.

What changes are required? I see there are 2 sets of bin files available to compare and work this out but some pointers would be useful.

                            Thanks
