  • ZWBEG and ZWOUT

First, I have a Motronic M2.4.2 Audi V8 (S6 4.2 AEC) but most stuff from prj is common with it as RAM_53 (ZWOUT) and RAM_54 (ZWBEG).

Please correct me when I write wrong information - I'm sure somebody knows much better than me.
May vwnuts can take a look into the FR and say hot/cold when sharing the FR isn't possible for reasons.

At the winlog driver it's visible how to calulcate the actual ignition angle -> X-RAM 5F - ZWBEG and then the known conversation factor.

X RAM 5F contains 88 as value -> 88*0.75 = 66 and at 72° the TDC mark is. Somewhere the 6° have been explained, I don't remember... I call this var BMLAGE, saw this name in some FR and it's shorter than XRAM 5F blablabla...

At TunerPro I use this equation "(-1*RAM_53/0.75)+(BMLAGE*0.75)" - I don't feel happy with this equation but the results is very close to the (BMLAGE-ZWBEG)*0.75 result.

In other FR it's shown that this is the corrected ignition angle (IAT correction, knock] correction etc) and the Delta of both would show if knocking or another correction is working.
Cause my assembler knowledge - ok math too - isn't good enough I would like to ask if some of the 5 cylinder guys could check this out.
In the prj mod the knock impact is shown and may somebody could make a TunerPro logfile and share it?

Thanks for sharing it. Gearbox, Idle Control and Anti Jerk function are only impacting ZWOUT.
As prj already mentioned regarding the knock control
Could you show the graph of the knock control too?

Thx. ZWOUT is leaving the Motronic and ZWGES is the knock control corrected ignition angle - so prj is right (didn't thought he's not to be honest :-D).
But nice too see the anti jerk function working :-) antijerk.JPG

Of course I'm right. I reverse engineered the binary, so I know exactly how it works in code.
Also I think antijerk is dead in my file. I just cut off the bottom half of the entire zw routine because it was doing random **** to the ignition angle (probably some sort of ignition overboost).

The ECU does have an ignition overboost, its talked about in the damos.

Its advancing the ignition right? Does it stock also put more fuel in?
@prj: Hehe. Of course you are right

This retarding of the ignition seems no to be anti jerk - it's not used in the V8 bindary.
Retard cause of accel enrichment or something like is it not.
                  Any idea what happens here?

I don't find any special function in the code which could explain this?!

I have never seen such sawtooth ignition from the ECU.

Are you running prjmod? Or is this V8 or some other thing?

V8 with some other datalog routine. :-)

I have ported datalog routine to 3.6PT in the past and no ignition jumps either.

Yes you have shown me that but did you logged ZWOUT too? (RAM_53)

ZWBEG - RAM_54 like in the primod.
I see a difference in the „ZWDELTA“ when I reduce the ignition timing.
Will test it with high octane fuel. :-)
                              Possible it’s knock control? :-)
