  • Amp 12v power from battery to boot

    Hi All

Question, how and where do i route the 12v sub power from the battery into the interior? Obviously it has to go through the dash, behind the glovebox (LHD).

Are there any unused holes to use?

    Its a 80 coupe B3, 2.0 8V (LHD)
    Cheers

    what current are you drawing?
There is a spare grommet or two in the firewall under the fuse box. There are also some spare 30amp feeds you can tap into in the fuse box

Im thinking about installing an ALPINE SWE-1000....its a active sub, 150w, not sure of teh current consumed so was going to go straight from the battery into the interior with a fuse directly at the +ve terminal.

      cheers

        IIRC P=IV so 150w / 12v = 12.5 amps?
If i was you i'd come out of one of the 30a feeds under the fuse board, use a fuse holder in the fuse box OE style, then run the cable along the drivers side under the carpet to the boot

Otherwise cut a slit in one of the spare grommets under the battery tray (RHD car and pull the cable through under the glove box and along the passenger side to the boot
