    Old thread, but nice build.

    With todays sub drivers you can use extremely small enclosures. 10-12" drivers works well in 10-20 liters volume. You don't have to use thick 18-22mm MDF or stinky and messy fiberglass for the build. For saving space and to get more volume for the enclosure you can use aluminium- or steelplate(3-6mm). You can easily save several liters or/and made the box smaller.

      Steel or aluminium boxes unless properly braces will resonate surely???

        Yes, of course. It's inportant to brace the box properly, but it is inportant with all materials, if you not have super thick walls...



        Here is one metal build I did on our car. Not a Audi, but you can get the idea.

                      More weight over the rear end will improve the balance
