I have this really annoying noise coming from the passenger side front when pulling off in 1st thengoing to 2nd and 3rd accelerating hardish it is like rrrrrrrrrrrr then change gear then the same again so on, have checked the exhaust for lose clamps ,guards so on but nothing really showing up as lose or hitting anything ,the car had been sitting for about 3 weeks then the noise appeared, so i am wondering can be the cat gone or is something to do with the transmission or driveshafts ???
Bet yer its the heat shielding rotton on the bottom bend of the downpipes. before the cats. It rots and get loose then rattles. Mine did this, drove me loony tunes until I figured it!! 30 seconds with tin snips sorts it for no charge!! ;-)
Right nothing there needing cut but found that one of the brackets under the bumper that holds the inter-cooler has snapped and there seems to be a lot of movement there, so have to source mounting for somewhere and see if that cures the problem
And yes the model is 100 S4 1993
Were could i found the mounting for this ,has anybody here fitted bigger intercooler and still got the orignal housing brackets ??
