    best lowering solution?

i want to lower a little my S2 Coupe ABY. i mean about 20-30 mm all round. was looking for bilstein sprint shocks but seems that they fit only rear becouse of thread difference. what about front then? what about springs?
    any solutions Guys?

If you use the original springs the ride height will remain the same. Changing the shocks can only affect damping rates. Only way to lower the car is to fit shorter springs. H and R seem to be the favourite round here. I've kept the standard springs and therefore ride height myself (roads are pretty bumpy round here and I need all the suspension travel I can get!) and fitted Koni Sport dampers which give a more controlled ride than the stock shocks (which were worn out anyway..) A stiffer front ARB is also a good mod to do as it controls roll without affecting ride quality too much.

Re reading your post I see you may be talking about changing the whole strut? Someone has done an adjustable coilover conversion, you could try a search.

Adjustable coilovers would mean you could dial in the ride height you want.

As Newsh says, H&R springs offer the "Tried and Tested" lowering route - I have this on my S2 - it's quite a big drop and it's significantly stiffer than stock, but it does the trick! I have Koni shocks, but there are others.

The drop is 40mm rear and 30mm front which gives the perfect look the ride is ok to

They could well be the right part no.s that you have Tom, im sure mine are the B8's which are the sprints. i will check with the guy i got them thru coz i was away from home while a garage fitted them and they had probs with them not fitting them and they sorted it while i was away. will check on tuesday and get back to you.

                      cheers

p.s. The problem was that Bilstein Uk told my motorsports supplier which part no.s i needed, they said these will deffo fit the s2 coupe (91). They came and they were wrong, so they sent out some other ones but as they didnt come through me as i was away i forgot to ask what the 2nd lot they sent out were...Problem is even bilstein arent sure what fits what. There are two sizs, 55mm and 52, just cant remember what one fits the early ones, ive got a feeling its the samller one you need for early s2
