I am thinking of going back to original spring and dampers too!
Wonder how that would drive when it was brand new...
On most of my cars I had lowered suspension (Spax, Koni, Bilstein, H&R) and on all cars I doubt this would allow me to drive it harder. Only one highways I could enjoy this more... As a matter affect I want smooth handling like an EVO: flying on even the most worse roads!

i wanted to ask this as well,is it possible or acceptable to use aftermarket shocks with OEM springs? If i change to bilstein or Koni, and still use the OEM springs will there be a good ride?or must i also change to something different to springs as well so as the cooperation of the shocks and springs to be better?(some people say that anyway)...??

I am running Bilstein Dampers on standard springs and the ride is fantastic!

You can attack ANY B road without fear of the car bottoming out of becoming uncontrollable through bounce.

I would highly recmmmend the Billys and standard springs...

            Cheers,

            Steve.

Are you sure? I found my Astra with H&R springs and Koni Sport (Yellows) shocks harsh to drive over potholes and rougher terrain. And yes it did handle well on high speed cornering. But I think the main thing making the Astra sharp were the Powerflexes all round. Bot ofcourse this also contributed to the harsh rides.

Also I had the urge to constantly try different settings, but never got what I liked and allways ended in the softest setting which I find too hard even for the H&R spring, which must be harder I suppose? BTW: why do they make it adjustable if you can't weaken it in comparison to OEM?

How would an S2 behave with OEM springs and shocks (that are not worn out)? Maybe with Powerflex and speed depended assistance disconnected?

Ps. do you mean Red or Yellows?

I am not sure but I think the shocks are developed and intended to use with original springs... I think at least...

I'm using OEM springs with Koni shocks, 1 turn from full soft on the front, 1/2 a turn on the back, I'm very happy with it.

Im thinking of doing this as well. How much are original springs likely to cost? Koni and H/R is just too harsh.

Well it seems to be a bit of an oncoming trend then?

I think an OEM (or OEM with Koni or Bilstein) Audi S2 would be sporty enough?

Has anyone been lucky enough to drive them all? Anyone that can tell the difference between (a not worn out) OEM or OEM with Koni or Bilstein set up? What's the difference understeer, oversteer, bumps, comfort, etc. Or maybe some MTM or Leda (seems to be very good, guys interested in handling, not looks)?
