i had that about 18 months ago and was driving me mad, convinced it was aheat shield or something else close to my feet but when i jacked the car up, nothing obvious, then when i looked about the suspension for any signs of movement the metal sleeve inside the rubber bush had parted company, allowit to move on the retaining bolt...probably sounds worse in the wet too?
edited...here's a pic:
Cheers, i'll have a look, i've been thinking propshaft, gearbox mounts or engine mounts
I hope it aint the bushes, Alastair replaced them before i bought the motor, i've still got 4 new bushes for the S2 in the garage.
Yeh may have to take it up too Hinkley or Church road garages, just a pain to travel, not so bad now i've got my weekends back.
That's over two years ago now, and if you are driving round on 18's with lowered harder suspension, I would not expect wishbone bushes to last an awfully long time....
Just my 2p!
Cheers,
Steve

My suspension is standard ride height, can't be seriously saying i've got to change bushes within 2-3 years?
Put it this way, I would not be surprised, these are the most replaced bush on the S2...

can vouch for that , mine are shagged after 2 years on 18's and Bilsteins/h&r's and the car is tramming under braking and on rutted roads - its terrible, this time, its powerflex for me, sick of using oem rubber for wishbones, 3rd time they'll have been changed in 6 years and it usually pi**es with rain the day i get round to changing them.
