    Wheel problem!! please help!!

Hi, More aggro with the S2 seems nothing will be easy with this car. I have bought some A6 wheels 245x40x18 which needed 10mm spacers on the rear to fit. When i tried the front wheel, the O/S or drivers side fitted with a 10mm spacer but VERY! close to the track rod end/ball joint. The N/S or passenger side still rubs the ball joint very slightly with the 10mm spacer This can not be right, is it likely that the arm or strut is bent? Does anyone Know where i can get the front struts from?? Dont suppose anyone has them for sale?? Any help is much appreciated.

Don't blame the car, do your homework before making expensive purchases that could be avoided by doing a bit of hunting.

    What offset are the wheels?

Might have something to do with your tyres are too big

you need 225/40/18 tyres 245 are too big IMO i tried them and they didn't fit.

will 225x40 tyres fit an 8jj wheel?? and i still have the one side rubs and the other side is ok problem. The wheels are from a mate who works for audi, so i can get my money back. But the wheels look nice on the car. Gutted!

            225 will fit 8j and 8.5j easily

The 18" conversion on the S2 using S8 alloys which are 8J is 225/40/18

Rotoryboy has 18x8.5j alloys with the same tyre size.

All covered on the forum previously.

You will still need spacers. you will probably need an offset of 35-32mm

10mm spacers will be about right.

hmmm... so still 10mm spacers all round. might look at different wheels, shame, but the wheels only just locate on the hub center with 10mm spacers and that cant be too safe. thanks for the help.

Are they the same size tyre though and one is rubbing and the other not??

If so I would get your geometry checked adn 4 wheel aligned.....

and if it highlights a problem.......
