Damn. My steering rod (the one under the bonned, above the gearbox) is leaking badly. Is removing it a mayor PITA? Any BTDT? Need to remove the gearbox? That is gonna be and expensive joke...

Change the red fluid and you may not need to replace the rack........it really does affect things that badly .......

i think you just undo the return line from the pump and drain it off into a container - build pressure by turining the wheel to full lock each way. I would then flush through with some G02000 and repeat, then reconnect the pipe and refill with fresh GOO and ur done. Might be worth cleaning the filter basket in the header tank for the fluid too as this gets loads of black gunk from the seals in it - i used carb cleaner and then gave it a good rinse.

@s2driveruk: thanks for that advice you gave me ! well i have some addition questation, what return line from the pump do you have in your mind? there is 3 lines i guess
well there will be some mixture between old fluid (red on) and new because i guess it is imposible to fully replace old fluid with new one ..... could it harm system anyway?
do you know what is the total flud amount in hidraulic system?
                          thanks a lot
