Ant - I meant to say - they have changed the design since those were fitted - must be a reason - could be the original design wasn't up to much - I have heard of a couple of people getting free sets from powerflex if they complain.
Clunk noise...

Doug,
The main reason they were changed was because of my whinging because i have had alot of problems with them squeaking and they have revised the design to get rid of this.
Drop links are certainly worth checking, as is ensuring the sleeve nut that holds the top mount is tightened properly. Mine undid itself a little so a little thread lock has solved it from undoing all the while.

Just a quick observation chaps..
I had a clunk noise from the LHS, the RHS ball joint was the problem!!!.
Hi 2 Mark, You may have had new ball joints, but on mine the three nuts had come loose ( my fault), the ball joint had not failed. If you have fitted new ball joints, check that you don't have loose nuts! ooh er
Once the ball joints have been replaced, the camber needs to be set. You may have tightened the nuts up OK but when you took it for checking and adjustment did they tighten them properly?

Dont leave Clunking noises too long! I left my rear drop link for ages as I couldnt be arsed to change it, after about 2 months the damn thing fell apart mid corner. Made for interesting handling! The ball came out of the socket :Osigpic

Found the source of my clunking. N/S bottom ball joint is completely ****ed. O/S one is not much better. New pair on order for Tuesday.
Looks like she'll be off the road for a bit longer. I've also destroyed a set of wishbone bushes in six months!! I'll be calling powerflex for some poly ones next week too. Want everything nice and tight to go with the big reds.

OK,
I found the source of my clunk noise. It was the front left ARB droplink, I phoned the stealer gave my chassis # and they said that they had one in stock so I bought it.
The only thing is its made of 'plastic' and the old one is metal, is this right, did they change it at some point?
I fitted it anyway even if only temporarily, as the clunking noise was driving me mad.

Leigh,
front and rears are different and so may be different price. the front ones have a swivel to allow strut rotation.
I've been told that the GSF and Eurobits ones don't last as long.
they come as a complete unit and you shouldn't need to add any bushes. You may need them elsewhere though.

Leigh,
It was £26.51 + vat, and as David says, the bushes are all there.

I've ordered 2 rear ones from VAGPArts and they were £25.17 + VAT for METAL ones listed as RS2 parts. If you order the S2 part you get plastic. Apparently they are identical is size etc just the material is different
