Unless you have fitted the top mounts the wrong way round (highly unlikely), it sounds like you have the wrong springs.
Regardless of wheel diameter the way to measure any cars height is from the centre of the wheel to the arch lip.
Do you have the part number for the springs Sal?

Sounds to me like wrong springs also...

But I'd also recommend doing the wishbone bolts properly with the weight of the car on them. Can be tricky on the floor - best done on a 4-poster if you can get to one.

@Porkkis, s2 shafts would have top be used, and it would all fit using the 6 sped s2 or 5 speed s2 box. You would only have pobs if you use the urq box due to the different length driveshafts

Each spring has a part number that I've compared with somebody else who has the same fitted to his ur (Basil from New Zealand), and all the numbers match.

These are the springs I got: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pag...mhtml?id=32741

Top mounts are the right way round.
I also set the konis to firm so maybe they'll take time to settle?
I havent driven it yet either

Anyone know what the difference is?

You have the correct springs, the only things left are. Incorrect parts supplied (despite what the number says) or incorrect fitting.

This is an 20v ur we did recently we Koni's and H&R's. Same setup as you. (sorry for the gay angle but it was to show the brakes off)

Sal, if possible take some images of the suspension legs in the wheel housing.

                  Hi

A few more measurements taken today

Gap between top of tyre(used a ruler, layed flat across the top of the tyre) and bottom centre of wheel arch lip
                  Front drivers 2cm passenger 3.5cm
Rear Drivers side 2.5cm passenger 3.5cm

I'm running 225/50/15 pzero's on the std rims and from the ground to the bottom of the ruler placed on the tyre measured approx 595mm.

                  Hope that's of some help.

What profile tyres are you using with your 17" alloys?

This may be interesting to try http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html

With my 225/50's I don't think I could get away with H&R springs if it drops the car by 30-40 mm.

                  Regards
                  Mark

                    Sal,
I was too tired when asking, apparently. Of course s2 shafts would fit when s2 box and struts would be used but if only s2 struts and one would stick with the 016 box...

@Corey, each spring has a part number on it which I've checked they match someone else's set.

The wheels I have are 8.5x17 with 225/35/17 tyres.
Now it could be because of the low profile tyres, but if you work out the rolling radius you'll find that these are greater than the standard 15s on 215/50/15. (unless I worked it out wrong)

Porkkis, the standard urq box is offset, i.e it has a longer driveshaft on one side. The ur outer cv will not fit in the s2 hubs, but if you try the s2 shafts, one of them will fit and the other side will be too long.
Your options would be either to get a driveshaft made or shortened.
I tried this but gave up and reverted back to the ur setup.

This is my ur with 8x17 and 235/40-17's and Koni and H&R's

225/35 are virtually correct tbh, take some images

I'll take pics a bit later. Have you got a pic a bit higher up so that you can the see the full arch and wheel?

Sal, hopefully this link should open the TUV approval for the springs 29545 which apear to be listed for the Type 85 q:

Difficult to interpret due to it being in German but it seems to list one of the springs (front?) as 810 22 100 not 810 33 100.
I seem to remember in the past there has been problems with H&R being supplied incorrectly.
I don't think I can link directly to the application list. You will have to look it up at http://www.h-r.com go the products heading, select sport springs and choose the application. You should then see all the Audi models.
