Column came out and rack just popped in place. The black part does just come out of the rack without any effort which seems a little odd, surely it should secire in somehow? Anyways, off on holiday next week so car will have to wait.

She's back together. Problem was the black part had come out, and while it was out I must've adjusted the height so both shafts didn't line up and it won't fit in properly anymore. Of course easy to spot when on the table
I have no noticed a slight left to right vibration on the steering wheel. Balanced wheels yesterday so not entirely sure what could be causing it?'93 Audi 100 Avant - R.I.P
