I agree the alloy subrframe / stock a-arm bushings works well. Has anybody run with both bushings changed? I have a set of powerflex but keep talking myself out of fitting them?

IMO for a road car your best bet is to use alloy subframe mounts and stock OE wishbone bushes, so you retain a bit of comfort but I like the feel of the uprated bushes but it is a personal choice.
If you are going to use uprated wishbone bushes then make sure you grease them well, the 034 items have a unique internal groove and a hole to allow you to apply a marine grade grease (supplied) so you don't have to strip them down to regrease.
Fatty what strut top mounts you using?
Hi Corey,
I am completely standard all over bar the Bistein shocks. I am looking to retain the OEM ride quality but interested in a wishbone bush that is easy to DIY fit and one that will outlast the rubber ones if possible....
Cheers,
Fatty

As long as you are able to get the old ones out then the 034 delrin bushes are a hand press fit.
You may also like to consider my ProMounts if you want effective handling yet OEM style comfort.
I've got alloy subframe mounts, polyeurethane wishbone bushes, alloy top mounts, and 18" wheels, I don't have a problem with any of them. I'll see how it is when I swap the Koni dampers for Bilsteins.
I don't get any trouble with road noise either, or maybe that's because I can't hear anything over the gearbox.
Corey, how much are the Delrin ones and how hard are they? That said, this IS a weekend car that only I drive, so its not THAT important!

Can you please give an honest appraisal of how the Delrin and ProMounts compare to the OEM, Superflex and Powerflex units, as I too am planning a full rebush and had planned to go OEM for the same reasons as Fatty...ie pure comfort (have you ever driven an S2 in Cambridgeshire?)
Also, what is their expected and guaranteed life expectancy?

I can't comment on powerflex, superflex or ProMounts as I've never tried them.
(Tell a lie, I can comment on powerflex rear diff mounts. They are Pants.)
I can also comment on delrin wishbone bushes.
Like the sound of SOLID plastic?
Evreyone is different, but that opinion above is mine, based on having used them, removed them and "thrown" them as far as is humanly possible.
Thats was my unbiased opinion..

If your car is only a weekend car, is comfort that important?
I'd rather have sharp handling than comfort, but that's me. I've driven some stripped out cars with harsh rides in the past, so maybe I have a biased viewpoint.

The ProMounts replace the original top strut mount, they are guarenteed to never wear out. You get the directness of an aluminium mount but still retain the comfort of an OE. You have 30 days to not like them for a full refund also.
If you want comfort then don't go for the delrin wishbone bushes.
For the perfect fast road use most of you would like I would suggest
Aluminium subframe mount
OE wishbone bushes
ProMount top strut mount
If you have the earlier pressed steel wishbone's get them seam welded or swap out to the later forged items.
At the end of the day we believe in supplying the best parts available but if something we supply doesn't meet the expectations you demand then that is why we offer the guarentees we do.
HTH's?

If its a weekend car then you have a point.
My experience was with an everyday car and its not sharp handling when they wear in a few months and get some play in them. Then the car starts steering itself. I was making bigger centres and reaming the bushes out to take them fairly regularly, eventually I gave up and went back to rubbers, what a relief, Still I guess the materials are getting better all the time and these 034 bushes with the grease point sound good.
related but not the same, have the ledgendary "clunk" in my drive chain.
Can any one sugest a diffmount replacement powerflex as a replacement (if they make one) or the OEM one?
James/ I had this nasty clunk and have been through the drivetrain to sort it. powerflex rear diff mount helped "slightly"
Then last weekend I replaced the transmission bushes with OEM ones, downpipe (great fun on axle stands),+ most of the exhaust.
Bingo. my tranny mounts were shot when I inspected them on removal. clunk totally gone and drivetrain now rock solid with the new ones in (sod all to do with DP or exhaust replacement though!)
Just got new OEM rear diff bushes on order to complete the set.
