    Hi Chris,

I do remember you wanted to mollify your ride a bit. I have no idea what the original rates were, but found this, HTH:

Audi 4000 / Coupe GT Discussion - Here are spring rates from an '87 4kQ - Had the springs tested today. Fronts and rear the same at 125lb the first inch and 150lb every inch thereafter. FWIW-I was told by a knowledgable guy that the Ground Control C/O has the same pick-up points for springs as does stock so comparing...

Elsewhere on the forum here (in the stickies for suspension and steering) is posted the formula to convert spring rate units if you need it.

Not that it helps you directly (with your coil-overs) but in terms of rate, know that I have run some yellow H&R lowering springs apparently made for the stock struts of the type 85 Q's on my 1990 Q Coupe, which I've found are quite comfortable. So similarly, it may be that the B2 and B3 stock rates are quite close, and info on B3 rates may be more obtainable, if you're looking for comparisons.
