steering rack rebuild how to?

i have tracked down a seal kit for the steering rack on ebay for a whopping $30. so next is trying to find a process for resealing the rack. any chance there's a DIY hiding out there that i have not been able to find?

I also have a feeling that I've seen a how to somewhere here but don't remember where. However I do have a factory rebuild instructions in a pdf format that I can email to you. I think it's not 100% all there but should get you started

you mean from the bentley? i've got that and it basically just tells you how to change the seals. i know from messing around with a mk3 golf rack that there's a certain way to reassemble it...that i do not know lol.

I too have the bentley manual. That's not much help to you if you already have it.
