changes from 80 series to s2

excellent stuff, So if Ive understood right, If I was to park an s2 next to the avant, and fit new springs and dampers to both, uprated arbs to both, and do the 996 conversion with their respective disks, there would be little to choose between them on the road?

(obviously specifics like the reer hubs wont be right or the stud pattern, but the major stuff, geometry etc?)

What is wheel choice like for the 4 stud? I like the s8 rims, but theyre 5 stud only I believe?

Wheel choice is probably easier as there are a few cars which the wheels bolt onto audis from.
