Just for reference I had my 3B coupe on the weighbridge today, 1470Kg with 3/4 tank of fuel. Only changes to spec that might help/hinder are 18" RS6 replica wheels and Recaro seats.

Do you still have the stainless scorpion exhaust fitted as thats probably slightly lighter than standard?

1470kg with something like 35kg of fuel so 1435kg. Sounds about right.

I was just checking that on S2Central. Is the ABY coupe really 105Kg heavier?

Thats a bit of a poke in the eye for the ABY boys and their overboost that they never shut up about

Yup. ABY has a bit of extra weight alright. I think it's a mixture of strengthening in the shell, the 6 speed with DM flywheel and a few more luxuries.

With overboost the torque to weight ratio is still better than the 3B

3B is a better sprint car as standard, 3rd gear is longer and it's lighter, shame 1st isn't as strong. I've said it before, the best S2 (standard parts anyway) is a mixture of 3B and ABY.

                      Wheels

Some more results to add, this time wheels......

Standard OEM RS2 wheel with 225/45/17 XL tyre 21.2 Kg
                      MTM 18" Cup1 wheel with 245/35/18 tyre 21.9 Kg

I was surprised to see that the 18" wheel was only a little heavier than the OEM combo.
                      RS2+ (now sold...)

Stock s2 seat 4 kg heavier than a rs2 type recaro (not electric). Coupes has the boot door in plastic, wonder if that saves much...

From memory a 16" avus with 205/55R16 tyre was 18.5kg. Not weighed the Dezents or Superleggeras with tyres.

SO my 225/45R17s aren't going to be too different. Dezents will be about 10kg and the Superlegerras somethink like 7.5kg. I found a useful website with wheel weights on , there's a thread about it not to long ago. 17.5kg is a good weight saving over the 20+kg wheels I used to have on there. Makes a good difference as it's rotating mass too.

Lloyd, get yourself a set of Ultralegerras on the RS2! Nice and light.

17" stock RS2 Cup rims with Conti Sport Contact 3 (225/45/17) weighed right on 20kg, as the Contis are very light. Nokian Hakkapellitta RSi studless winter tires in the same size with similar rims weigh approx 21kg.
The car came with 18" Mille Miglia Turbo Cups with worn out Falkens in 245/35/18 that weighed close to 23.5kg. Sold these and replaced with the Cup 17's and Contis. 14kgs of rotating weight of wheels equals approx. 25kgs off the chassis. Not to mention that these 3.5kgs extra per corner are unsprung too..

Light tires are more important than light rims, due to longer distance from the center of the wheel (inertia effect)
