    The front springs are 895 411 105 without AC and 895 411 105 A with.

The rear springs are 8A0 511 115 CQ

Both are almost impossible to find. On the S2 we recently did, Tradition had the fronts but not the rear so I sent them to Spring coil in Sheffield who copied them to perfection, how the rear springs are formed at the ends, greatly influences their setup when aligning.

Tradition still have the rear dampers 8A0 513 029 AF at €290 but at the front, I found my only option was Koni.

That's very useful info, noted... Do you mind saying roughly how much that company charges to fabricate a pair of S2 spec rear springs?

I can’t remember the cost but it wasn’t silly, they may still have the data for the ones they did for us, ask them if they have the data from the ones they did for C&R Enterprises in what was probably 2024.

Colesy, how have you found the Bilsteins (with machined perch/groove) on the rear of your S2 Avant? Is the ride much stiffer than with the stock Boge or is it only slightly stiffer? Are they paired with stock springs?
I haven't actually driven the avant with these fitted yet, so can't comment unfortunately. They are paired with stock springs though. When I get it MOT'd I'll post back

              Thank you both.

I have contacted Spring coil in Sheffield and will hopefully hear back from them next week with options and pricing. They said orders could take 6 weeks to fulfil.

Springcoil have now tested my original (corroded) Audi RS2 springs.

The front springs were tested as 190 lbs/" and the rear springs were tested as 325 lbs/".
So, not the exactly same as the spring rates on the first post of this thread (210 lbs/" front; 300 lbs/" rear).

Could the spring rates of my springs have changed over time and use (31 years and 161,500 miles)?

Could the original spring rates have varied between batches made for Audi in 1995?

Does anyone know where the spring rates on the first post of this thread came from (written materials? workshop manual? testing?)?

                  Thank you

They look fab, how much was it for a set of front and rear springs?

I think it was about £150 for a pair of springs + VAT + shipping (new springs with zinc primer and black powder coating). They accommodated my request for colour code paint dots.

Without the zinc primer, I think it would have been about £130 for a pair of new springs + VAT + shipping.

If you want two or more pairs of the same springs, there is a slight discount. So the rears were slightly less for me as I wanted a spare pair.

These were made by Springcoil in Sheffield after they tested the original corroded springs I sent them. The new springs come with a 12-month warranty.

They can refurbish old springs but, after seeing the original corroded springs I sent them, I was advised to get new ones.

Very good to deal with Springcoil. Many thanks again to Steve (Crasher) for suggesting them on this thread.
