Promounts and Konis issues / pro mounts

Just had the HnR springs and promout top mounts fitted but there's a small issue... the top nut on the strut can't do up more than about 3/4 the depth of the nut. I assume this is due to the promounts being thicker than the stock mounts and lock nut... anyone had this before, I just searched but it's late and I failed.

    Here's a pic:-

Oh thats not ideal at all. Presumably this is all to do with the promounts and not the springs ?

can't compress the spring at all to help?

      castle nut done up fully?

springs front <-> back wrong way around?

Springs are correct, I've checked that it's all ship shape with the strut tube flush with the spring top cap, only issue this can be is if the spring top seat and pro mount are interfering but this pic says they're OK.

Peter, the weight of the car was on the spring when the pic was taken so not much more compression there It's bottoming out on the strut shoulder at the thread base.

Not sure on a solution at this time, thinner nylock required, I've thought about the duty of the nut and it's fairly minimal so a thinner Nylock is an acceptable solution. Still, sub optimal if you're paying £150 a pair for these badboys, I hope it's my mistake.

We had a similar issue when fitting my H&R springs, turned out the bearing in the top mount had been put in the wrong way round!

There's no castle nut, it's replaced with a collar. All I can think of is that the collar is upside down but it's in the logical way around... well for me anyway

Which bearing? Were they promounts? PMs use spherical bearings, not the roller ball style of the OE so can't really be upside down as the ball is the same size top and bottom.

They were just standard (green I think) top mounts, I say "bearing", Im not entirely certain... the metal bit in the middle!
Aiden (quattronutter) spotted it after we put it back together and found the nut had hardly any thread (if any atall)
Im not familiar with promounts, but could be a similar issue?

The only thing it can be is the supplied sleeve sits in the opposite orientation to the way we've fitted it, this would seen a bit **** about face to me but then it's late, I'm tired and I'm recovering with some wine

I need photos to understand that. So tell me - how much for these 'promounts' - and who supplies them ?

I know what I'm on about, too late to do a pic, basically there's a top hat shaped bush / sleeve that sits in the bearing to take up the difference in diameter, I currently have it with the rim uppermost but this could be incorrect and it needs to be lowermost to space the mount off the spring top cap...

I'll try and remember, might be able to do a pic.

Think I've identified what I need to do to resolve the issue.
