Our teminology might be different but we're in agreement... the reply I received from Mance states that the centre bush shoulder should sit on top of the ball joint, see my diagram above for clarification of my terms. In the picture you have posted the top cup has covered the top of the centre bush.

Here's another picture showing correct bush orientation courtesy of Mance:-

Just one question Andy, does the washer sit below the spring disc as before?

The pic in post#32 shows a number of washers as part of the supplied parts.

I'm was wondering if you need to install one of the per strut as per the factory setup.

Or is it the term "spring disc" you're not familiar with? By that, I mean the disc which sits directly on the top of the spring. The top mount then sits on this disc.

                    Thanks, I understand

As far as I'm aware I don't have that washer, certainly don't remeber it from last night, hence my earlier confusion Don't think it's ever been there, at least since having the Konis fitted.

Based on how tight the setup is, I'd suggest that (if I don't have the washer...) then it's not going to fit with it., if I do then it would allow some headroom... Not sure where that washer has got to or what it does really, just a spacer I guess.

I've only seen the washer on my CQ20v struts, the S2 struts dont seem to use them. The top mount #12, and the bump stop #10 are also different on S2 struts.

Hmmm...hold on a sec, the Koni shocks you have installed, are they the sport type suitable for cars with shorter springs by any chance?
These have a shorter rod than standard which could be the reason why you can't get full thread engagement on the nyloc assuming you still have standard springs of course.

                        Just a thought.

HnR springs, they're the same(ish) free length as OE.

The issue I have encountered is correct, Mance provides special lock nuts that are lower in height to solve the issue with OE nuts. Everything is as it should be

Mance has had a look at what we've been talking about over here and hjas sent this through, I hope he doesn't mind me posting it...

But those washers, and I'm assuming he means the ones with the "B" stamped into them is for using Pro-Mounts with other coilover kits like KW and other coilover conversion kits offered here.

My CCK's are proprietary and thus are designed/machined to fit the Pro-Mounts perfectly. But other coilover kits have upper perches that were designed for OEM strut mounts and the upper spring perches on those kits will interfere with the under-side of the Pro-Mounts preventing them from deflecting radially or orbitally because the perches bind against the under-side of the Pro-Mounts.

The washers in that picture are simply 2.5mm thick spacers that allow other CCK upper spring perches that weren't designed for Pro-Mounts to be used. Since coilovers are height-adjustable the additional thickness which would normally raise the car if OEM spring/perches were used can be dialed out with coilovers and provide room for deflection between the Pro-Mount under-side and the other coilover kits available.

That's the "cheap fix" as some people with CCKs other than mine will opt for using the upper spring perches from my CCk's which I make in several different configurations to adapt Pro-Mounts to KW and a host of others.

CCK is Mance's coilover setup, as per :corey:'s original thread, they're overengineered and make KW look like Lego.

                                CCK = Coilover Conversion Kit.
