It looks like it's the piston that my mate lost. OPPS!!! It looks like I'm going to have to get a second hand PAS pump just to strip for that little part. Thanks for your help guys and if anyone has a spare broken pas pump going cheap

Has anyone got a source for the bolt and sealing washer for an ABY? I chatted to the sales guy in the stealers an he reckoned the bolt and washer were not available as a separate part. Though I could buy a new pump for £550!!!! We could find the part for the S4 mentioned earlier but there did not seem to be an equivalent for the ABY.

      Thanks.

Which stealer was that?! If it was the Audi branch on the A45 I look forward to giving them some abuse about that.

I can get you them for Friday if you fancy a trip towards the B&Q warehouse.

It was indeed the branch on the A45, the guy there is usually very helpful though.

That would be awesome if you could!

Do you mean the B&Q at Binley? I finish work at 1 on a friday so couldn't really meet much before 2 as I am working down at Gaydon at the moment.

Got a cap and O-ring in me 'and right now in Sheffield.

Main reason for O-ring failure - it should be soaked in minerall oil for 24 hours before fitting, otherwise it rips as the screw is tightened.

We moved site across Coventry from Holbrooks to Binley. We are behind the SEAT showroom next to B&Q now. I'll order some in for stock in case you need them.

We are open till 6pm in the week and 1pm on Saturday mornings so ready when you are.

I have finally got around to fitting these plugs and need a quick bit of advice.

What is the correct way of fitting/removing them. the obvious way i see is to use a screwdriver and hammer but that will surely do no good for the sealing surfaces etc. Is there a special tool to use?

                    Thanks!

Removal - impact driver and "draglink socket" - a.k.a. big screwdriver bit. From memory - 16mm.

Refitting - same driver, no hammer. Critical - oil the seals first.

                        Thanks very much!

Do these have another name they go by too? I couldn't find any in my local halfords or machine mart and the guys I asked looked a bit confused at the name. Google also seems to mostly come up with american results.

The name perplexed me too until I walked into Hayway Tools in Kettering and asked for a 16mm (sorry) draglink socket. The guy behind the counter said: "You mean a sodding great screwdriver bit" and gave me the above.

It's 16mm. The slot in the cap is wider but shallower towards the end - a 16mm allows full depth grip.

Added: And as you would expect from my gear, it turns out to be FACOM. Part number ENS.316
