I think that your front spring idea is eminentely sensible. The longer I keep my B3 Q Coupe, the more I raise the front end, and the more I like it. The next spring I'll wan't to try will be as you describe.
I would be interested to know what all the various springs (OEM & non) that fit stock perches are in terms of rate.
Your rear spring idea, is also interesting, but because I'm curious to hear you explain how that would work. Are you trying to keep the rear half of the body down (like when it is fully loaded) when it's lightly loaded?
The rear spring is to counter the body rise when you strip the rear interior out and thus reduce the rear axle load by 50-100kg. The springs would be designed to complement whatever front spring was used, so as to keep the handling correct. I've got to the quote stage with this and can custom specify springs and have them manufactured. There was no intrested so I shelved it for now.

I'd be interested depending on price. Mine's too low with the h&r's on. I think a 10-15mm drop would be a better compromise in terms of balancing suspension geometry against reduced centre of gravity (and looks obviously )
HnRs are a 20mm drop from my measurements on the Coupe.
Price is looking like the same as Coupe HnRs, £250 a set but that's just a ballpark at the mo.
For the Avant, I'll need some rear springs to look at and to get the rear spring length when the car is stationary, preferrably stock springs and the maximum length of the spring when off the car and on the damper, will do the same on the coupe too. The companies I've been speaking to can test spring rates and can do HnResque variable rate springs in case such a thing is needed to sort the free length out, as HnR have done.
