Mance does his CCK conversion, there will be a kit that's suitable.

      Andy,

Could you give a bit more. info on this one re. 'Mance' as I'm also considering coilovers for my SWB project.

      Cheers.

Yeah, Mance is a chap over in the states who makes specialist parts for Audis. He's never really sold in the UK so we've been deprived of the bits other than the odd group buy. He used to have a website but doesn't any more. His email is on here somewhere, search for 'mance email'

The Coilover Conversion Kit (CCK) that he does contains all the parts required to make your normal struts into coilovers, you just choose the springs and dampers and off you go.

Suggest you speak to Bo (S2_bo) or Stu (4wheeldrifter) as they have fitted CCKs to their S2s

If I went coilovers then I'd be very tempted by this setup, it's not cheap but it is good quality and that counts IMO.

Another option might be to contact Nitron, a mate had their 1 way adjustables on his VX and they were top quality, cost a small fortune tho...

Use the 2.5" coilover tubes from Compbrake. They fit perfectly over the ur struts once the spring platforms have been taken off. Welded them on and you have coilovers!

If they are the same OD as urs then yes they should, if not there are other sizes of sleeves avalible.

Compbrake also do the solid top mounts for our cars amongst a variety of other parts

You will have to measure the tube thickness of the S2 struts. The coilover sleve will go over a 54mm tube, which is exactly what the UR upright is. I also found that the top hat that comes with them fits the top of the Koni dampers perfectly.

                      Is this what you've used?

Reason for asking is that I've had a chat with Sal as he's used these and in the end gave up as he just couldn't get it right and went back to Konis with H&R springs.

I really like the idea of coilovers but I've not come across anyone as yet who've had success with the UR.
