put the front hubs on and had to use outer cv joints of a 90q 20v that i broke a while ago, but i never took off the rears, so when i came to put the rear hubs on i found the cv's were too small for the hubs.... so what else fits? do they just knock off the same as the fronts? is there a joint from another audi even a front 1 that'll go on that i can get from a scrapyard?? cheers

sam: Can you read this?
avant and limo are the same cars, so everything is the same. you could also use the front cv joints on the rear, the only difference is in the cv joint rubber boot, but it also fits perfectly. the difference in the boot is that it is designed for turning in all directions, the rears are not (only up and down), but the front boot fits perfectly also on the back...
Salty: if you use the s2/rs2 rear diff than you need also the axles, because the flanges on the diff are larger, so the inner cv joints are the problem. for the outer joints you could use, like said, b4 v6 cv joints, but not on the s2/rs2 axles.Last edited by Skull; 19 May 2010, 06:04.Audi Quattro WRComment

look how kind i am
this is what you are looking for:
VAG 895 498 099 C
VAG 895 498 099 D
SPIDAN 0.022552
SPIDAN 22552
LÖBRO 134227
LÖBRO 301952
LÖBRO 75714S
LÖBRO TGS4504
EKG 922552
EKG 0.0922552
and if you want to be more than 100% sure, just count te teeth or splines in the hub and on the axle.
you need 38 of them in the hub and 30 on the axle.
now you have 33 and 30 probably.Audi Quattro WRComment

Señor Sküll, out of curiosity I tried this a couple of weeks ago. The problem with putting the front CV on the rear axle is that the axle diameter is too small. I think the only solution is the RS2 rear axles, which use the larger......and the inner CV.avant and limo are the same cars, so everything is the same. you could also use the front cv joints on the rear, the only difference is in the cv joint rubber boot, but it also fits perfectly. the difference in the boot is that it is designed for turning in all directions, the rears are not (only up and down), but the front boot fits perfectly also on the back...
I've got a set of rear RS2 axles coming soon.

But what axle were you using? as Limo, Avant and RS2 rear axles are the sameSeñor Sküll, out of curiosity I tried this a couple of weeks ago. I was playing around with 80 V6 limo axles. I had urS4 front outer CVs that I was wanted to put on, but the diameter of the axles were too small.
Maybe the V6 front axle uses a different outer CV than the S4? I could have sworn that they were the same part. I've been known to be confused before!
You guys know?

so the problem is not the cv joints but your axles! where did you get the front ones, where the rear ones? what engine was in your car stock?Señor Sküll, out of curiosity I tried this a couple of weeks ago. Exactly. The axles are too small for the CVs that I was trying to use. If the 80 V6 front outer CV fits the rear 80 CV rear axles then that is good news!
The donor car is a quattro.
For one, I have lots of C4 parts around the garage. Second, because I can't look at a friends car (none in the US) or call the Audi, I am must try different ideas to solve problems. I knew that the RS2 rear hubs require the larger CV so I thought to try the larger S4. I will try the 80 V6 quattro CV now.
