DIY Coilovers

I am seriously considering this now, I have a spare set of S2 strut housings so will dig them out and have a look at it with a view to coming up with an easy DIY fabrication using parts off the shelf in the UK

I'll be watching closely Error! All set to buy a supersport sus kit as I'm only 2WD.

Does anyone know of a UK supplyer that stocks the threaded sleeves of the appropriate I.D to suite S2 suspension legs?

Rallydesign only stock 2" I.D to suite Ford Escort/ Capri stuff.

They do a full kit, and if you phone them up and say you missed them on special you get some money off

Think I still have a pair laying around somewhere but would have to check.

If they are, then they'll have a weldable ring to hold them in place. Better ask.

Good anything I do will be fully welded, not happy with the bodge job slip on set-ups I keep seeing
spaced out with o-rings and the like


I have ordered some bits from Compbrake to build one unit using an S2 front strut housing.
Does anyone have a dead / used / unwanted S2 front damper insert I can borrow?

You should have said alex, i've two of the kits that need building up, you could have had a go with them.
