RS2 FARB Drop links - Are they specific to the RS2?
RS2 FARB Drop links - Are they specific to the RS2?
I need to replace my front ARB drop links on my RS2 and was wondering if they are compatible with any of the other B4 models that are actually sold in North America. (Not the S2 or RS2)
This is one of the joys of owning a car that was never sold here.
Can't comment definitively on this, but I think they are S2/RS2 specific. If it comes to it though I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to buy a couple in europe and ship them across. With a strong C$ right now you'd do alright, last time I bought a pair it was about £35. If you want them from the UK let me know.
A took a couple of pictures for comparison while I had them all on my workbench. The top link is the RS2 one. Note the thicker link rod (10mm) on the RS2. The standard 80q link (middle) was 9mm. The S2 part is the resin part on the bottom.
its odd that Porsche used a thicker link rod on the RS2 droplinks as I can't see that it is a weak point, you'd think the weld to the balljoint cup would be the first thing to give up the ghost. Maybe they wanted to add some extra weight so the 911 had a chance?
