Yes, well sort of , they said they were going to look into it and get back to me.
They wanted me to post them back to them so they could check them out.
I refused on the basis of cost, I had only bought them in the first place as I was ordering some high output coils from them, I would have not ordered them on there own as the shipping would have made them too expensive, hence I was not going to pay to ship them back at my expense. I think they failing may have been that the rubber was not cured at the correct temp/ length of time to achieve the durometer required as to me the rubber did not feel hard enough.

Anyway I was pissed off so I made my own solid mounts with spherical bearings in work.

My top mounts need replacing as its going to AM cars for an alignment in the not too distant future and one is creaking like a goodun. I use the car daily for short trips to and from work with the occasional hammering on the weekend so it has an easy time.

Can anyone comment on genuine top mounts from Audi? I guessing they would be fine for an everyday car and not wear out too quick?

      Cheers

I've fitted OEM from the dealers back onto mine after trying all sorts.

I figure they can't possibly break any quicker, and at least they're cheap.

Ok cheers for the advice. Just ordered some at about £13 each from Audi Dudey so im happy with that, now i can get the alignment checked and adjusted then it should go round corners properly!

          Thanks again.

I ain't buying another set of top mounts until i can be sure that they won't crumble at the mere sight of a speed-bump.

I feel that as site-admin it is... err... my responsibility, nay, my duty, to test these before anyone else, and thus ensure they are are safe and fit for purpose

That's how I feel about the engine mounts

Just reading this thread, this is what I thought you should be doing, fair play.

Presumably, two types - one for daily road, and one for track ?

Awaiting further details and photos when you're ready.

                        Kind regards.

Engine mounts nearly ready, to be honest we have been so busy for the last 12 weeks its been really hard to get some RD work done when big customers are chasing orders
But have been looking at another option to the top mounts, and spoken to a couple of Forum members and read many threads about them.
The feedback i get is that people like the solid top mount idea with a spherical bearing but not the solid harshness!!!!
So the plan is the combine the solid mount with a poly outer

Well, you can put me down for 4 when they're ready (assuming they're not £9000 each).

So am I the only one with track density 034 mounts?

Been on for two years and are spot on. Except for the harshness but I don't mind as I love the feel of a well held strut!
