now thats interesting, i just had a peer inside and i have a hole at the base of the hole the screw goes into....now presuming that shouldn't be there!!! Could explain also why its defeating the new seal.
ahem......anyone have a 3b pump kicking about am thinking this one is dead
no its been refurbed in the last couple of years but the original....sounds wierd, noise rises with speed, I might have overtightened the belt so will renew the belt later and reset it.
I had a small weep on mine after fitting a new O ring and screw, so I put some Loctite on the threads and left it to dry overnight before runing the engine, that was probably 2 years ago and it's still leak free.

The plug is there to blank a hole off, why would there not be a hole?
Have you checked the 2 small plugs? And the banjo bolt screens?
If its not them I bet there's a crack in the housing, maybe locktite will seal it.
