  • Rear end re-build

    Folks,

Question/advice: after stripping out the rear end of my coupe (sub frame, struts, drive shafts, diff) I'm wondering whether it's best to put it back together in separate bits (reverse order of dismantling) or if I should assemble the rear subframe together with the diff and wishbones on the bench and then lift the whole thing on?

Will I be able to get to all the diff connections I need and to the drive shafts or will the sub frame get in the way?

    Ta in advance.

    Derek.

Don't torque up diffmounts until prop is fitted and everything is settled.
Don't torque up wishbone bolts until the car is on the gound or atleast has weight on the wheels. Not sure if this applies to poly bushes though.

But it is way easier to fit the lot together on the bench rather than bit by bit on the car.

I did it bit by bit, and it was a pain to get the diff in.
