Ok who's running anything other than stock settings or has experimented with them a little?
I've been thinking about dialling in a bit more front camber to counter the dynamic camber change from the McStrut, hoping it will yield a bit more grip.

I run half a degree camber up front (think thats stock spec), as with any more i find it darts all over the place on rough roads, especially when breaking. You could generate a bit more mechanical grip with more camber but in the real world it just makes it more difficult to drive and unpredictable. Rears are currently at 1 degree but thats overkill for an avant, will dial that out next time.

My Type 89 I run -2.8 degrees of camber front and rear. .20 degrees toe out in the rear and I keep playing with toe up front. I play with that between 0 degrees and .25 degrees toe in. I'm also only running 205/50/15 for tires. I think if I were to be running on the street with a 225mm wide tire I would lean towards 0 toe front and rear, and bump camber back to stock. For my T89 street cars I run -1.5 degrees -2.0 max and 0 toe.

When you say you want a bit more grip, at what point do you mean? Braking, corner entry, mid corner, exit etc?
Mid corner really, being able to hold a tighter line and get on the gas earlier
Bit of a fundamental weakness / complaint of the CQ/S2 IME.
Way to overcome it is to turn in a little fast and off the power to get the back end to swing out a little and get the car to point further round the corner. You can then get back on the power and the 4wd will snap the car on line again and off you go with a lovely slingshot out of the corner. Does rely on front end grip and not really recommended for road driving
Suprised that your larger RARB doesn't give you some of this as standard. Are you still on 16s? I found that the car handled brilliantly on the Pirelli Corsa 17 inch trackday tyres, as you could lean on the front without it slipping as much and the back would swing but a lot less... still remember my laps of Combe chasing a B7 RS4 and quattro rally car - S2 felt like it was on rails!

yeah the big rear arb means the car breaks away very neutrally, into a nice 4 wheel drift, so understeer is pretty minimal, but i'd like to be able to hook up the front end a bit more, I feel like I don't really have the power with the 7A to manhandle the car around as it would like to be. I run 16s on 225/50s on track, they are Bridgestones so have a pretty stiff sidewall anyway, but nothing like track rubber so you can feel them start to roll onto the sidewall a bit.
Will have you got any mobile gear to have a fiddle at the track? :mischeif:

Be interesting if you can work around this; I've just learned to drive around it TBH
hehe, yeah well that's the quattro way I believe
I was planning to go and see Chris at Centre Gravity to get him to suggest some settings, but really can't justify the cost just yet, still need to finish my DIY coilovers which will involve downsizing the rear bar and running stiffer rear springs, once thats sorted I can focus on playing withe the geo a bit.
My Gf's brother has some load cells at work so I want to go and measure the corner weights and see if there could be any improvements to be made from playing with the cross-weights to improve that. Be interesting to see how they stack up with a half tank and me in it.
EDIT: Will that looks like it comes in pretty handy! Will have to get my **** into gear and come up to a day at Oulton
