    kw

I have had KW V1 kit on two cars last of which was a relatively new seat Ibiza. I know its not an S2 but I would say very good quality for money, way better than spax etc however ride is very harsh, speed bumps, potholes etc nightmare. Don't know if you can get it for s2 but eibach pro street is made by KW but has eibach springs which aren't as harsh.

anyone got the V1's on a CQ20v ? If so, which one of the two types offered as suitable did you get ? One has 913 as the last 3 reference numbers, the other 914.

BTw weighed mine on a weighbridge ( not as accurate as corner weights I know ) and it came out 880kg front and 560kg rear which is a big discrepancy from the alleged 55-45% F/R distribution that the handbooks suggest...still, maybe the set with the higher Front axle weight will be better ( cited as 951-1100kg by KW )

Following some investigating there is no option to request specific spring ratings for the V1. I'm ordering mine this week. Will report back once they're fitted.

Guess you can buy springs separately if needs be, they'll either be 2.25" or 2.5"

You can but KW have matched the springs to the shocks to (I assume..) individual vehicles? If you're likely to change the springs etc then you're more than likely going to want the V3 set-up as it's more user adaptable in that way? Mind you, I haven't looked into the spring options etc for V3's as I can't afford them...

They're an entry level coilover rather than a race setup so I wouldn't have thought changing the springs would make that much difference within sensible limits and anyway, you're fitting a setup that's generic to the B4 rather than having rates chosen for a specific car Be interesting to see how you get on with them.

You're 100% right Rusty, V1's aren't meant for track use at all, but merely a high quality 'fast road' setup with preset dampening: http://www.kw-suspensions.co.uk/uk/kw_variant_1.php

V3's offer adjustment on rebound and compression, however this is still classed as a 'fast road' kit for the more experienced user. V3's in my opinion will suffice for moderate/entry level track use, but so would V1's to some degree. It all depends on the individual and how much knowledge they have with suspension setups.

Everyone will have their own opinions/preferences when it comes to suspensions, one man's favourite can be another man's hate...

What are the prices you can source the different versions for?
and would a v1 setup handle 1 maybe 2 track days a year

and yes they should be fine for light track use.

                          V1s etc

I just got mine delivered last week, not fitted yet, will report as soon as I get it done after I receive my Promounts & MS2s from Uncle Mance . Get well soon BTW .

Marshall on this site has V1's on his CQ, which incidentally is for sale at the moment also on the cars for sale section, have a look at the Borbet alloys on it, nice ! ( and 4 stud too which is rare ). He rates them highly .

A massive thanks to Yaz ( again on this site ) for ordering my set for me at a better price than I could get elsewhere, and in a record 1 week turnround from manufacture to my door . I've posted a separate thanks on the forum for him today .

I've had kw v3's on my 90q from last summer. I've been quite satisfied, having read the stories about shocks leaking, parts breaking etc. Last summer I had three or four track sessions with those. This winter something like 7 or 8 ice track sessions also, with very rough surfaces, ambient temperature ranging from -5 to -27 celsius. Nothing has broken yet. Nice thing about the adjustability is that you can easily set these up for summer (stiffer) and winter (softer).

Np. I did a little modification prior to installation though. I bought some neoprene tube which the enduro guys use to protect their shocks and tied it to bump stop and shock with some small zip ties. Prevents most of the dirt & ice from hitting the shock shaft. I drive gravel road every time I leave home, so I thought the original dust caps were not enough.

                                Like so.
