I've emailed Mance, will update this thread when/if I get a reply. If he's up for it, I'll front a group buy as I want a set.

I'm getting some rattles over the bumps from the front, and the wishbone bushes and balljoints have been replaced as well as a CV boots and joints checked... not sure what else it can be from other than top mounts!

Just double check those ball joints. I had a genuine audi joint last less than 2000 miles!

Just to add to this.... I have a set of pro mounts that I purchased from Corey back in 2008 ish....

Just for the record this is what Bambridge took some of his ideas from.

I am sure these version are going to be the way to go....

I'm glad this question has been asked as I'm quite new to my RS2 and have wondered all of the same things.

I'd be up for a set on the group buy. I've tried emailing VAP a few times but never had a response.

I'd to see what Bambridge mounts do 1st
They were red poly like the engine mounts
I think Rusty removed his pro mounts?

The first set are with Steve Brown, and will be going onto his car soon.
Steve wanted a top mount that used a spherical bearing but without the harshness of a solid ally top mount, so asked me if a could make some for him.
After reading Vaps/Mances thread about using a softer material between the bearing and inner wing will make the bearings last longer, i decided to combine the solid mount idea with some poly and still use a locking ring.

As the poly is the same OD as a oem mount it should fit snuggly inside the wing, so unlike the solid ally mounts wont need the locking ring hammered tight to stop any movement.
Infact when we tried it on Steves car i was surprised how well it did fit for a first attempt.

                        At last,

a new thread about what I was on about a while ago.

Looking forward to feedback on Bambridge's version of the B4 top mount. i want them for an Avant and comfort road use.

The replacement costs of the Febi green top mounts is not the overriding issue, but it such a pita to have to change the green ones so regularly.

                        Would not rate Topran stuff.

Recently cured an annoying knocking noise in the front of my Avant, where on stripping to see what was what, as all the obvious parts were new in my efforts to eliminate the knocking noise, and I found that the bottom of the top mount was grinding into / scoring the top of the black metal top spring cap, so on reassembly inserted a suitable big diameter washer in between the top of the spring cap and the bottom of the top mount and now no knocking noise on say rough road repairs type "bumps".

                        May work for someone.

I've fitted a set of Meyle HD mounts so will see how they fair up with mixed road & track driving, those mounts look superb Kev and no doubt they will be excellent quality like the rest of the mounts / bushes that you manufacture.

I've fitted Meyle HD ones to my daily and to my surprise I encountered the same problem as macspring described above.
After fitting the Meyle topmounts the top of the spring cap scratched the metal of the strut tower. Needed to fit a washer on that side to fix it. Something I haven't had before. Still have loads of rattling noice coming from up front but the rest of the bushes ain't new so can't say it's because of the top mounts.
Had no advise at the MOT for the bushes though..

                              Bambridge's mounts look awesome
