It can't be for weight saving? As one unit to replace the pump is marginal.

It can't be for converting to vacuum servo as you can just remove the front vein in the pump and cap the feed to the brake bomb.

So I don't see then need? That's what I was trying to ask.
Convert to vac, and ditch the original pump and the mr2 pump can be relocated anywhere you can pipe it. There is a guy in motorgeek had one in the boot of his cq, moved weight rearward and made space at the front.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you match the new electric pump with stock hoses?? maybe with special ones, stock ones or can be homemade?

My typ85 high pressure line matches the MR2 pump but i need a different return hose made up. I might just get the lot made in stainless braided from hydralics place up the road like i did with my fuel lines.

Wondering how prone the MR 2 set up will be to vibration

              Some info

Anyone using one? If so, from what vehicle? I know the BMW mini uses an electric pump, but I haven't checked pricing or fluid type. Anyone know other cars with electric pumps? I'm not really aiming for a HP gain, but rather just thinking about placing it in a safer spot...if I have room...

i kinda like my power steering but i would like to free up some hp off the accessory belt. i remember reading in Euro Tuner that Javid fixed one up on his 80tq. i just wanted to see if anyone would be able to answer some questions about it. the best wiring cause i've read it draws a lot. fluid...

a_CQ on motorgeek had a cq20v/v8 with the mr2 pump in the boot, I cant remember where the thread is though.

For the reutrn line you dont need to do much, all you have to do is block the connection from the
Bomb. I just welded up the b nut so it was a blanking plug.
The supply line to the pump thou can use any suitable hose as there is no pressure on it.

for me it would be to create more space in the front of the car, especially with the Wagner IM....

You would also loose a bit more nose weight depending on where you put the electric pump. I have a saxo/ 106 pump to go on mine over winter.
