    3B vs RS2 Steering rack....

The time has nearly come for me to pull the head off of my 3B coupe, so im going to take this opportunity to replace the rack after i discovered it was running red fluid and the seals were already leaking on it

I read a post somewhere from Alex about the rs2 racks being 2.6 turns lock to lock compared with the 3B 3.0 turns?

Is the 2.6t rack a straight swap?

Can i retain the servotronic assistance?

Should i expect my hands to look like corned beef by the time i'm finished under the bonnet?

Can anyone recommend a good company to supply a rack - i only want to do this job once.
    Cheers

As far as I know it should be straight swap but won't retain the servotronic assistance. From what I've heard, without it feels better, was removed from the cars in 93ish I believe.

Someone else can add to that please?

Its a straight swap, but you will loose servotronic as only the 3B rack has it

The 2.6 turn rack is found in the RS2, ABY S2 and V6 engined coupes.
      I have a good one if you need it, £60 + P&P

What does servotronic feel like anyway? Is it kind of like electric steering? I quote like the standard ABY one, heavy but in a good way

              Cheers guys

The servotronic assistance at low speeds is high so its very light while manoevering and parking.

              Alex you have a pm.
