best place to get urs4 suspension parts. what to change

    I'm changing bushes etc on my urs4 advant. I have ordered new dampers and springs so will have the suspension appart in the next month. I'm wanting to change as much as I can, so I have alloy front subframe bushes and the derelin rear subframe mounts to change at the same time. I have new top links for the back with bush one end, ball joint the other. But I would like info on where to get the following;

Complete front tie rods with track rod ends.
Bottom arms with ball joint and bushes
    Roll bar to subframe mounts
Dust covers and bump stops for all 4 struts
    What else have I forgotten?

Do top mounts ware our on these cars? Basically my car has always been vague and tram lines a lot with changing road surfaces. I have set alignment to strait ahead and after a few weeks I have 0.5 deg toe in, so somethings moving, and I want it fixed! Anything else I can get to upgrade/ change at the same time? What rear bushes are available?

    Cheers des

the bush/mount that sits into the bodyshell where the long bolt goes through the subframe and bottom arm may well be why your tracking is going out,i had the same problem on my a6.The bush was heavily worn, drove like a new car after.

'Thuppu' makes some solid ones which look good

I replaced the 2 back ones with the long bolt and held to car with 3 smaller bolts within the last 2 years. But I'm replacing them and the ones at the front of the subframe with the solid alloy ones thuppu supply. What else could be doing it. Anyone ware out the bushes at the rack end of the tie rod? I want to change these just in case..

You can get a lot of that stuff from Paul at Custom Auto Craft. I'm not sure what brand of parts he uses now but he used to do mostly Febi/Bilstein parts.

Just found this too which is pretty useful, just find a local Febi/Bilstein dealer...

So the bush that mounts the roll bar to subframe is 4a0411327g I think. Any place other than dealer for this. I have added upto 400 quid in stuff other than springs and dampers. This better sort out its wondering...

Depends if you have the 1BE or 1BA suspension (last code, lower right corner of the build tag). 1BE is the sport suspension with the rear sway bar. This means the front sway bar is 28 mm diameter. In which case those rubber bushes are 4A0411327J. The 1BA is the non-sport suspension with no rear sway bar and the 26 mm diameter front sway bar, in which case the rubber bushes are 4A0411327G.

In my experience, C4 UrS4/S6 wandering (sometimes called "tramlining") is due to one of more of the following:

                    1. Tires that are too wide or improperly inflated.
                    2. Worn inner and outer tie-rod ends.
                    3. Worn steering damper
                    4. Too much toe-out on the alignment.
                    5. Worn rear suspension links, particularly the toe brackets, (Items 14 below). Rear track control rods (Item 1 in second diagram) might also come into play.

Number 14 is on my hit list to change. I run 225/45/17 winters which wonder a little less than the summer 255/40/17. Not sure if that's down to width, or the summer tires being more sticky. What is considered too wide for these cars? Some came on 245/40/17 didn't they?

I have a rear antiroll bar so I probably have the larger front bar too. I must check.

I've used money bookers before. It's safe but a pain in the butt as unlije PayPal you need to put money into the account which ehen doing foreign transactions you need to guess the xchange rate because you don't knoe until you put money into the account.

I have a spare front subframe with nearly new bushes etc which I need out the way. If it's any use let me know.
