You should not use a simple ring spacer or there is a risk the split ring on which it sits will pop out under impact with catastrophic results. If you look at the underside of the spring perch it has a groove machined on the inside so that the split ring can't leave the damper. So either find some genuine bilstein spacers, make some with a similar groove or just machine new slots on the damper higher up. Bilstein will do this for you for a price. If you machine several then you can adjust to suit your ride height preference.

Thanks for that. I was looking for the info that I knew I had posted about the spacers that Eibach had provided to compensate for Bilstein stopping pre-grooving their rear shocks with 3 grooves, one normal, one lower, one higher.Like this... http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/200040.phtml Yes I know!
From my previous AudiWorld post from 09-05-2009:
"Exactly. Here is a photo of one of the Eibach spacers that I took out an Eibach envelope this morning. Looks the same as the ECS spacers (or more correctly, vis versa). The OD is about 55 mm. The ID is about 53.2 mm. The outside height is 14.3 mm, the inside height from the lip down is about 11 mm."
