    C4Q Rear Control arms

Where is the best place to get these? GSF don't do them, ECP only have q drive, VW will be silly money, leaving english bits, and ebay. Ebay has Febi's at £125 a pair, or ATP at £60 a pair, had some ATP stuff before and it felt good enough quality, but didn't do any mileage on them.

    Cheers

Here in Finland when I ask for prices from a local parts store there was something like 10 different brands(30-120e/pcs) availablle of the rear control arms.

I have replaced these 3 times on my car. In my experience the cheap ones lasted no shorter than the one ones. Around 2 years.

Nice to know, cheers. I went with the German ATP ones in the end from ebay.de. Fast delivery and couldn't fault the quality on visual inspection.

Is there really any difference in LH and RH ones of these? GSF have RH ones in stock but LH are on back order but I can't think of a reason they'd be different.

One side is LHD/RHD thread and the other side is RHD/LHD thread so when you turn the adjusting nut in one direction, e.g. up from the back, it does the same thing on both sides of the car, e.g. more camber (or less camber). This will make sense if/when you take one apart (if you can get it apart).

Thanks, ordered them Tuesday morning and they turned up today, quicker than most sellers in the UK!! I'll fit them at the weekend and let you know what they're like.

Have you fitted yours yet Phil? Because mine didn't fit without modifcation

They have tabs machined on the end of the threaded bar to lock the two ends together

As you can see the tabs are machined in the wrong orientation. This is the std one on the left and the Ebay one on the right

I ended up cutting the tabs off so I could align them, then put some Loctite on the nuts to lock them in place.

That's a bit weird, fitted mine, was in a bit of a rush, and as all the fronts have been off so I'm going to get the whole thing aligned sharpish and didn't bother trying to set the camber. I'll have a look this week.
