You need to look at the springs irrespective of part number orientation. One end has the helix angle, the other is bent flat. The helix angled end goes at the top.

Did you refit the spacer collars at the top that centralise the insert in the strut tube?
I only had collers for the front inserts which I fitted and locked down tight. The rear inserts were touching the top of the tube and also locked down tight.

Also the two front inserts were tight to get in I had to use a rubber mallet to get them in

Andy that was my first thought the springs were put on with the tight coils at the bottom.

That's the sound im getting from the n/s front a twanging sound the o/s rear clunking
the o/s front is ok and the n/s rear clunking and im pretty sure the springs are all on tight coils at the bottom so I need to change them around only took me two days to do them

I'm 99% sure thats how i fitted them to my avant, but the coupes (blue springs) need flipped the other way around. Confused? So was H&R by the looks of it..

You can see that the rears in error's post aren't seated properly at the top. If the fronts were sat like this, they'd twang. Q.E.D.

Springs upside down at the back is unlikely to cause any noise, as the struts don't turn. Suggest you check everything is tight.

Don't forget that the strut to hub bolts are stretch bolts and should be replaced, along with the nylocks.

That because the nuts were loose when the picture was taken mate, trust me I fitted them correctly, and had no issues at all with them

Done up or not, you can still see that the springs aren't seated properly and are at an angle due to being upside down. As above, it won't have caused an issue on the rear but would have done on the front

I have deffo put them on wrong will have to take all of again and I found some of the noise from the back it's the heat shield above the back box it's dropped and is sitting on top of the box so when a speed bump comes up its tapping the box also had a spirited run today and the car felt I was driving a boat nearly lost it on a bend but thanks to the brakes (Porsche gt3s ) I came out ok.

I have used the old bolts for now until tps gets some in was a bitch to get the bottom front ones out due to the caliper bracket getting in the way. I at to take the calipers of but couldn't budge the brkts and being aluminium couldn't put heat on them so i filed one edge of the bolt down until it cleared the brkt happy days.
