Why does my coupe keep wetting itself???

A few months ago I noticed that after standing for a week or so I started the car and my brake pressure warning went off. It had a ne bomb not 6 months before so I topped up my pas fluid. Then every time the car stood for a week or me I found a puddle of fluid under the NSF wheel. I spoke to Peter a Quattro corner as I suspected the bomb was faulty.
He advised I had probably overfilled the reservoir and I should deplete the bomb before checking the level.
The car has been fine for ages but has been stood for a couple of weeks whilst I await some bambridge top mounts. I stepped in the garage and the fluid had again leaked out the reservoir cap.. It's very little but it's there.
I started the car and got the usual brake warning. I accept this as I feel this is normal whent the car stands for extended periods. But why is my power steering level rising and leaking out the cap vent.
I haven't topped the level up cos after starting the car the level is still enough to keep the float up.
Have I previously overfilled the fluid and it is leaking out once the bomb depletes over time, or do I have an issue.
Ps the fluid was flushed and renewed when the bomb was done.

Oh and I get 30 plus pumps on pedal before the bomb depletes.

Wouldnt they only relieve pressure under working conditions? The steering all works perfectly.

Look down the fluid res hole, there is a white tube with cut away sides the level should be only up to the bottom of the cutouts in the white piece.

Faulty check valve in the bomb IMHO

Yeah i thought that. But it was a new febi bomb at considerable cost. If it does it again ill be looking to get pete at quattro corner to replace. Notlike they are a tenner.... if it was leaking gas surely by now it would of ran out by now?

When you turn the engine on, the fluid level changes, so worth checking before and after switching the engine on.

The only thing that can pressurise the PAS system with the engine off is the bomb. It should only pressurise the fluid downstream to the servo - that is its job of course. If the check valve is faulty it will slowly pressurise the fluid back through the pump to the reservoir.

Right after emptying the bomb roughly 30 depressions of the pedal the level rises just level with the cut outs in the filter basket.
When i start the car the fluid drops about 15 mm below the previous height.
As i said if it does it once more ill be taking it up with pete at quattro corner. Something is gradually creating positive pressure and it would.point at the only possibile. The bomb.
I dont hold out much hope of an exchange though as when i last spoke to him.he said the problem will be something other than the bomb!
