    Replacement Suspension

i'm interested in Bilstein or Koni Suspension
Has anyone found a Place in the Uk that sells Bilstein and fitted it to their Coupe?
Is Quatrro Sport the only place i can buy them??
    Are there any Cheaper places?
If i'm lucky enough to get Bilsteins how much are H&R Springs
    Cheers
    Steve.

Yes Rotoryboy! I saw that this morning but was trying to keep quiet about as there'll be about 20 other S2 owners bidding on it now

i have billies and H&R's fitted to mine....I managed to find a bit of a bargain on ebay.de so got the dampers for about £200, I think they were about £105 a corner from demon tweeks. The springs were £237 inc from AMD in oxfordshire.

I love the combination and with fresh bushes and top mounts it feels great! With blue top mounts it drops the car by about 40mm i guess.

The bilsteins are not adjustable - i.e. they are fixed rate dampers but i find them fine on everything except really cr*ppy backroads.

            HTH,

Ahh! Cumbria Specialises in really cr*ppy backroads
Do you have any pics of the arches/Wheels on your car David (i have same Wheels) i want to get an idea of what a 40mm drop looks like.
Also did you notice an increase in interior/Dash rattles etc.........

actually i think it rides generally better than on the 16s - just on really poor serfaces especially with a lot of lateral 'chop' it can get unsettled. Corners much flatter and with the bigger wheels feels amazingly stable and chuckable. With an rs2 arb and maybe a whiteline rear i bet it would be even better.

                Heres a couple of pictures

et is 30 so they sit outboard a bit more - normal is et35 (standard on the S2 is 37 but only get very minimal rubbing. As for dash rattles etc no the car is actualy pretty quiet though the boot does squeek but i cured that with a big blob of grease on the contact points

As I have said before you should get the H&R Cup Kit for your s2.
That is Bilstein Sprint Dampers with H&R 50/50 lowering springs, i have this and it works perfectly.
You can buy it from www.reinekeshop.de just email them.

Are these kits available for the avant do you know?

I'm looking at the KW Variants at the moment but the prices are rather fruity!

Not happy with my Konis. I have set them as I like but they keep sofetening on me. They are too hot to touch after a country thrash so they are dying pretty quickly. This is not Konis fault but my own. I should have sourced some shocks with remote resevoirs but I couldn't find anything OTS and took the easy option. Standard and aftermarket parts just cannot take the abuse.

I've heard you say this before somewhere in another thread Lee, thats why i'm not too keen on Konis. Most roads near me are Backroads (I live in the Sticks bigtime )
