I have all poly wishbone, subframe and ARB bushes back and front with stock springs, uprated dampers and stock top mounts on my S2 Coupe.
It took a year of faffing about changing parts but that's about the best comprise I could come up with for the road.
I like my RS2 just as it is now it's back on stock springs and I'm going to to do my best to use OE replacement parts wherever possible.
By the way, the upper rear arm bushes are the same as B5 A4's (Also half the price) and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find others on the back are interchangeable.

I would say that combination is about perfect if your going to use Bilstein B6 sport shocks.96 URS6 plus speck saloon

Two months ago I rebuilt completely suspension on my RS2, but on subframes I used 034 Solid Subframe bushes. I am totally happy with the car, and I did not notice any negative affect. Car feels tight and precise but not too harsh on ride. I would suggest solid bushes on road car also from my experience.Comment

That might well be true where you live, but we have guys here in UK who have used solid subframe bushes who say they hate them for normal road use and went back to Oem or polybush. There is one thing that springs to my mind.If you living in Germany as your avatar states with near billiard smooth roads then you might well get away with solid subframe bushes. Here in the Uk with rubbish roads it's a big no no.Two months ago I rebuilt completely suspension on my RS2, but on subframes I used 034 Solid Subframe bushes. Bear in mind some items for the rear suspension are only available in OEM as i found with the S2 avant. Also good luck in fitting the subframe bushes. I found them the biggest issue when doing the rear of mine recently. Some machining shops i use regularly wouldnt touch them, a VW/ Audi specialist I know quite well wouldnt touch them and then Audi themselves said they wanted £140 and would not be held responsible for bending or damaging the subframe which has happened in the past apparently.
I ended up doing them myself with much stress on the patio with various items and of all things a club hammer!Comment

I take my hat of to you as it's not an easy job.Just goes to show the so called "specialists" aren't really that special if they cant or wont take on this type of work.96 URS6 plus speck saloon

Thank you but when i say myself I mean between me and my brother who if he hadnt have helped meant the refurb on the back would not have been possible. He is a plant fitter and has only been into mechanics in the last few years so we kind of had to rely on this place and limited past experiences we had between us.
Still, subframe bushes are one thing I will never take on again (I know I might have to do my front subframe bushes next year... I might try to dodge that one)Comment

Sounds like I am in for a good time with the big hammer, bar and a large helping of bashed fingers and thumbs and all mixed up with a really large helping of tourettes.

You have absolutely no idea mate lol.... Make sure you have lots of copper slip and wd40 to hand and a big old piece of tubing or a so socket in the region of 65 - 70mm (and that still wont clear the bush but will allow you to get it most of the way through, thats when the hammer comes in to a world of its own!)
The front bushes went in real easy, its the rears that we really REALLY struggled with.Comment

Just mid way through doing my rear subframe refresh - Stuck on the bushes but see my recent thread. Some are going to arrive on the market hopefully in next couple of months.
I used oxy torch lit four small rubber fires, let burn and that was it - no drama! As for pressing new ones in - How did you do it in the end. Was it emotional?Comment
