Another annoying knock

My avant seems every so often to throw up a really annoying knock or rattle
This time it's from the near side rear,but I am confident that it's not the suspension,because I have recently overhauled it
I have just sat in the boot and had a listen whilst my Mrs drove down the road.There was definitely a knocking sound coming from behind the boot side panel on the near side
It's not the battery or the abs ecu
The question is ,is there anything else behind that panel that could cause a knocking
Initially I thought it was the rear bumper which is a bit loose,but that has now been removed and the noise still remains
It sounds like a plastic against something knock as it doesn't have a metallic ring to it
Oh and some pointers on how to remove that panel would be very useful

not the central locking vacuum, mine was loose when i found it in the nearside qtr panel void, not sure where its located on an avant? Or Immo box maybe?

Not sure David tbh,it is quite an audible knock and whilst I sat in the boot and felt what my dog feels like sitting in the back,my ears deffo pointed me towards the top of the panel where the seat belt mechanism is

Not exhaust knocking on hangers/diff etc?

Not this time andy although you did help resolve the front knocking I had buy saying that yours did the same before you swapped springs round-upside down

Do you still have the cover/tray on the battery with the tool kit in it?

Only thing I can think which is higher up is the reel for the rear seat belt.

Have you checked the brake backing plates are tight? Mine used to rattle until I reebuilt the back end. I had been trying to find the rattle for ages and never even considered these....

Ball joint failed or wheels nuts loose?

All sorted,but not quite sure what it was but it might have been the top small wishbone on the rear.Took the strut off to check everything and re tighten.I think it might have been the long bolt that holds the top wishbone on,tightened that up and re installed the strut,noise gone

Oops had two already,but I did earn them.even took the rear bumper off and rebonded with some really good wurth expoxy resin where it had split away from the mounting

ah, i need to do that on mine actually...will try the wurth stuff as last stuff let go quite quickly
