    UrS6 - Wheel Alignment Specifications

Keen to make this a STICKY for UrS6 owners on here and have one definitive suspension settings / alignment thread.

    Quick questions.

Are the factory recommended settings different if you have different sized wheels and tyres fitted - i.e.

    205/55/16 on 7.5 x 16 Avus rims

    or

    255/40/17 on 8 x 17 'plus' rims

Personally I'm looking for specs for a road salon car on Mk1 S8s with 255/35/18.

Also tyre pressures for this set up ?

Also are the factory settings different a 2.8L V6 and a 2.2L 20vt different, assuming both on the 16" rims and matching tyres ?

Also is there a different in settings for a saloon and an avant ?

    Thanks for your inputs.

      Hi Dave,

Thanks very much for those figures for the 16" rims.

Are there different settings for at the factory 17" rims of 8 x 17 with 255/40/17 ?

          Thanks.
Assuming that the tires that you put on the 17" or 18" wheels keep the same diameter as the stock 225/50/16 setup, i.e. 24.86" (631.4 mm), then the alignment will be effectively the same.

Note that alignment is, to some degree (no pun intended ) a matter of personal taste, i.e. more front camber because you drive the twisties agressively or more toe-out because you like a quick turn in. The values that I presented are a range, not chiselled in granite. (If you're from Aberdeen, then that *COULD* be a joke ).

Find a enthusiast-friendly wheel alignment expert and present them with the numbers I have given you. Then have a conversation about how you want to drive and how you expect the car to behave. They will interpret what you are saying and, if they are good, set it up to match your needs. A good shop will let you test drive the set-up for a bit and offer to make fine adjustments if you aren't 100% happy.

          Good luck.

I'd be interested to hear what Thoms
runs with his camber plates. I want to
that sweet spot for c4 alignments.
