heavy shaking at 80 on a bend

My C4 A6 quattro avant was having a little shake through the steering wheel for a while and i just thought it was wheel weights .

But today I over took someone and just popped to 80, while on a very slight bend and the whole front of the car started shaking and the steering wheel was bouncing up and down more than ive ever seen a steering wheel bounch in my life!

Then, slowing down to 60 it goes away. I know what wheel weights feel like,.. but this felt more like the wheels were going to fall off!

    Anyone had this before?

Something does sound a little loose/thud type sound/feel while going over severe bumps in the road..

I'm almost affraid to drive it, it feels that bad at 80

Check the obvious first, loose wheel nuts, hub bolts, ball joints, suspension struts, tie rods etc then swap wheels around see if it changes things, tyre pressure and condition can cause this too. I had similar last week was a knacked ball joint

We had a tyre on my mate's Audi 100 that was worn out of round, similar symptoms.

Also check wheel nuts BTDT, thought it was a bad CV

Simplified C4 Lower Control Arm Replacement DIY

As the others have said but I suspect worn lower control arms, either the bushing at the subframe end or the ball joint at the strut end.

        This could help:

          I'd say control arms too
Does it do it on all roads?
          Maybe it was to road?

My urs4 did exactly this when a front damper had burst.
