Mark, thank you once again for the recommendation. The cheese burger is on me at the next show!

Janis, I have replied to your PM. Just need some additional info.

Just to recap, B6 and B8 sport dampers are equal internally except the B8 is shorter to accommodate lowering springs. However B6 dampers will cope with lowering springs up to 40mm and to be honest I don't know of any spring manufacturer that makes springs more than 40mm for an S4/6.

B12 Pro Kit consists of a set of B8 dampers and Eibach springs and the drop is only about 20mm. Please bear in mind that if you have an S4/6 with the original suspension, by now it has probably sagged about 20mm or more. So when fitting a B12 Pro Kit it might not seem the car is sitting any lower. The suspension will also settle once some mileage has been covered.

      Thanks and merry new year!

Sorry matey are you asking me? If so, I wouldn't know because I don't deal with H&R or Eibach.
So I would suggest a Google search?

But what the heck, as it's Christmas and I'm bored at work!

          Eibach: http://www.venommotorsport.com/produ...nsion/SU11915/

          H&R: http://www.venommotorsport.com/produ...nsion/SU20238/

          I hope this helps?

          Merry New Year!

bilstein B6 cant cope with H&R 29828-1 violet spring.this spring is lower and softer than 1BE.
I believe they're lower than 1BE approx 40-50mm atleast.it means compairing with stock spring,
They re way more lower and the B6's is bottomed out BTDT.

Yes true, so in this case you would need the B8 sport damper.

I dont want to go super low. I dailydrive the car , so perhaps I will go for Eibach springs.

                  The H & R Link with Venom seems to be for a later model A6, i.e. not a C4.

                  Just pointing out.

Just to point out another C4 issue with lowering springs. First of all I think any lowering spring needs the B8 Bilstein shocks. If you stay with the OE 1BE sport suspension, then B6 shocks are fine.

If you go to Eibach springs with their approx 30 mm drop, you can get away with slotting the Item 36 top strut mounts to get within recommended camber range. HOWEVER, if you go with the H&RS with their 40 mm or so drop, that trick won't work and you will need an after market top plate (think 2Bennett) *OR* you can do the "Igor" (Kessel) modification of the Item 33 concave support.

My car originally had Nivomat at the rear, failed one. I tried to use two sets of different rear shocks, about 8 litres of hydraulic fluid laterI gave up, as the height of the car with standard suspension is horrible. I got 1BE springs and bought B6 HD shocks -brand new ones. Front subframe is reconditioned - all. Rear end is not as I still wait for my Apikol order of diff mount bushing ..etc and consider the polibushing set from Albert for rear arms. What i get now is anoise from the front-like a knock while the car is unsettled over harsh uneven patches of road, a bit of steering bump... I am worried the front springs are too soft, or there is another issue.I am yet to check what front anti roll bar the car has...26 or 28mm. Rear suspension is worn out but will survive winter...It is my daily driver so will do all suspension work in obe lot. Also will polibushing the rear end help the squat under full power ? Rs2 setup on a 1.9 bar chip and 7A cams? Or go for harder, lower springs like Eibach?

                        All the best

                        Ivan

                          Hello guys,
I also planing to replace rear shocks. The Coils on my car are coloured with 1 yellow and 3 blue lines. ETKA says it is 4A5511115AG.
But I do not know what shocks to buy. Everyone says Biltein or Koni.
Has someone tried Sachs or Kayaba?

Agree that 1 yellow/3 blue = 4A5 511 115 AG and that, furthermore, this is part of the UrS6 sport suspension for UrS6s with either the AAN or AEC (V8) engines. On that basis, Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty should be perfect. No adjustment nonsense.

I personally couldn't find Sachs or KYB shocks for UrS4.

I have Kayaba Sport Ultra on my UrS4 with Bilstein springs. PN - 376001. IMO they're alright.
