I fixed mine temporarily with silicone hose/copper pipe and jubilee clips, then bought a cooler to fit instead (didnt want to boil the fluid on track).
Another second hand one might last another X years, or might just snap at the most inconvenient time.Current-2004 Impreza PPP wagon

You could use a pair of AN-barb fittings then hose and jubilee clip.Current-2004 Impreza PPP wagon

better than paying a fortune and waiting for ages for a "proper" one, that's for sure. I just picked up a right angled hose and a length of 15mm stainless pipe. pipe went from left (in picture) to right. 90 degree hose around the corner and then about 50mm more pipe to connect the the hose that feeds into the fluid reservoir. I also used my dremel to etch some lines into the pipe near the ends to help with grip.

Don't forget the ribs in the OE hose increase surface area and therefore help to reduce temps in the PAS fluid. I seem to remember way back someone replacing with plain hose and then needing to switch back to the ribbed hose because of boiled fluids...worth keeping an eye on levels just in case.91 Modded 3B

yes mate, I definitely understand that there's not going to be as much cooling from a straight piece of pipe. This is just a temporary solution for now until I put in either an original part or a universal cooler (mini radiator). I don't want to go overboard on a car that's fairly standard and won't be thrashed.
Plus, I think the current solution will be ok for a few months. It's quite.. erm.. chilly here

What a PITA.
My RS2 currently has a very similar arrangement with the PAS pipe and it's fine, some C3 100's had a simple non ribbed steel pipe from the factory, I have one knocking about spare somewhere. I do have a proper ribbed pipe to fit that Mark (Vorsprung durch Technik) kindly donated to fit but also need a pump to bomb hose as that's weeping and I want to change them both and the fluid at the same time.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

Looks a nice fix to me in the meantime
....exactly the same happened to me on my CQ7a, I hardly touched the hose and it just snapped!...the car's's still a long way from being put back on the road for various other reasons but I'll need to fix this too however.
Good luck with the rest of the upgrades
